PUHI prepares to launch commercial biochar production in Hämeenlinna – final preparations nearing completion

PUHI began installing its first biochar factory in Hämeenlinna in the fall of 2023. The first biochar was successfully produced in March 2024. Since then, PUHI has conducted several successful trials and made significant process improvements to the facility. 

The biochar produced during test runs has yielded highly promising results, achieving over 89% fixed carbon content and an H/C ratio of 0.25. These results indicate that the biochar is highly stable and well-suited for various applications.

In the coming weeks, PUHI will conduct longer production trials to optimize production and gradually move towards continuous, full-scale production. 

In the near future, we will be launching several new job openings and starting to deliver biochar to our customers.
